Here is a Charles R. Cross connection I found at the Washington Secretary of State website. The article is about digitizing Rock Music history in Washington.
"Before social media or even the internet, there was The Rocket.
It began as a music supplement to the community newspaper, The Seattle Sun, in 1974 and ran through 1982. Once a month, The Rocket newspaper would publish the venue stage schedules from Eugene to Vancouver, B.C., with interviews and exclusives from musicians, music producers, and artists. The Rocket reporters covered alternative music, art, and culture trends beyond the mainstream venues. Many of Washingtonโs creative personalities, such as cartoonists Linda Barry and Matt Groening, and Seattle actor John Keister, got their start working on the paper. It also connected bands such as Nirvana and Soundgarden, who sought guitarists, singers, and roadies through classified ads."

Sorry to hear Charles R. Cross has passed. Charlie made a mark as a Seattle music writer. Here is a story in The Seattle Times.

Am between books at the moment. Was re-reading non-fiction but it lost my interest. Need some good fiction to keep my head together. Caught this sticker on a bike ride down MLK in Seattle. Reading books all darn day is way better than doom scrolling all darn day. Another good alternative, for me, is a musical instrument. Been playing a lot of accordion. Good for the soul.

Here is an old trick I have performed in many bars over the years. The Magic Floating Bass.
